The proper Easter things to do in London
Easter’s all about spending time together and hopefully outside. If you want to combine both, there is, of course, a good choice of eggs hunts around London, organised by the National Trust – with Cadbury’s – or English Heritage. The hunts are organised in the parks of some awesome mansions like Eltham Palace, Hampton Court House, Fenton House… The WWT London Wetland Centre raises the bar even higher by organising a proper duckling quest from the 30th of March – the 15th of April (so get those dates in the diary).
The Peter Rabbit enthusiasts amongst you should stay on the underground a little longer to reach Kew Gardens, where a trail to find the stubborn little rabbit will be organised. It’s not just for the kids, as there are plenty of informative talks and tours organised across the gardens too.
Surprise yourself for Easter in London
Since you’re already in London, here are a couple more events we thought you might be interested in:
Adventure Films Underground short adventure film festival taking place every Thursday in the tunnel under the gardens at the Brunel Museum. Wild cocktails, a campfire, marshmallows, street food, and award-winning documentaries. Until the 29th of March.
REIMAGINE, Orchestral renditions of classics: hear modern classics from Daft Punk to Dr. Dre performed live with an orchestra at in trendy Shoreditch. Each date will feature a different artist. Until the 7th of April
Is Easter just an excuse for a huge party in London?
Once you’re finished doing cultural and outdoor activities, one thing is probably tickling at the tip of your toes; your desire to dance. And having a few days off actually opens a highway of parties in London. So why not?
Because it’s London, you’ll find a bunch of events that are simply unbelievable. For example, not far from the Tower of London, you can board a boat, pick up some headphones, and dance with other people that may or may not listen to the same tune as you. This is one of the most fun events we’ve been to and it’s called Silent sounds boat party. If you don’t have sea legs, maybe a Drag show will suit you more? We know a good one at Concrete, in Shoreditch, with heels, wigs and all the G&Ts you want. That’s for Thursday. For Saturday, we’d point you in the direction of the 7th birthday of Supa Dupa Fly with only tunes from the nineties, loads of hip-hop and R&B. The best hip-hop night out.
As usual, our neighbours from Oslo Hackney have a bunch of cool events around Easter. While of course, they will be supplying their usual big tunes on Friday and Saturday, they also have this super “Eastery” gig, Oh my God, it’s the Church, on the 5th of April.
Where to eat, drink and stay in London for Easter
If you want to go for something a little different this Easter weekend, why not try a Fawlty Tower dinner experience? The guests are fully part of the show and the comedy goes on as the dinner is served. Quite a fun experience, even if you’re not too familiar with this classic TV show. This event on Bloomsbury Street will be held at the Radisson Blu all through March and April. Following the same idea, it could be really nice to ease up the rhythm on the Sunday 1st of April by enjoying lunch at the cosy South Place cinema, watching the movie Chocolat with Juliette Binoche. Can Easter get any more Eastery than that?
