Kip's Post-Lockdown Guide To Hackney! - iconiK London

The Kip Neighbourhood: Our Guide, Post-Lockdown

As life in London slowly eases back into a new kind of “normal”, we couldn’t be happier to welcome you all back to Kip and our vibrant neighbourhood, Hackney! We wanted to remind you of all that Hackney has to offer, with a little post-lockdown tour of everything you need just 5 minutes walk from Kip.

We’ve all been missing real coffee shop coffee, right? So, satisfy that craving and grab yours at Palaette, we recommend basically anything with oat milk alongside their freshly baked cakes and pastries. If you’re craving something more savoury go for a homemade wrap, the vegan one is mind blowing…trust us! You can also sit in and honestly we wouldn’t blame you, the decor is super homely and we love all of the plants and flowers that decorate the interior.

For something a little less PG grab a beer in the sun at Pub on the Park. It is one of the most iconic pubs in East London, known for its glorious view of London Fields and plenty of outdoor seating so that you can enjoy your drink in the London sunshine! Pub on the Park has the best atmosphere even with social distancing, so be sure to get there earlier rather than later to bag a good spot.

Talking of London Fields, you most definitely need to check it out, it’s  the park at the heart of East London. The perfect place to soak up Hackney’s energy; people watch, read your book amongst the daisies, and even get involved in a cheeky basketball game if you’re in that kind of mood!

We couldn’t show you around our neighbourhood and not take you to Broadway Market, the go to for basically everything…

For an authentic Italian you must try Bella Vita, not only do they have an old school pizza oven cooking up the tastiest pizzas, and killer Aperol Spritz, but the staff are the friendliest around! What is great about Bella Vita is the outdoor seating, you can literally enjoy your meal on Broadway Market…there really is no better seat in the house than that.

Of course there must be some bookworms out there, we can all be suckers for a good bookshop?! Artwords is just that. Located towards the end of Broadway Market you’ll find our favourite bookshop, specialising in fashion, photography and art…as well as a couple of necessary books that’ll teach you a thing or two about life.

Once you’ve satisfied your inner bookworm finish off your neighbourhood tour with a stroll (or cycle) along Regents Canal. We may seem biased, but believe it when we say this is the BEST canal in London, filled with life and also a sense of calm. You really wouldn’t want to miss seeing East London along the water, if you carry on along the canal you’ll find yourself in Camden…let the exploring continue!
