Planning on heading to Hackney this weekend? We’ve got you covered with Kip Hotel’s list of things to do in Hackney this weekend.

Things to do in Hackney This Weekend…

It’s Tuesday, and let’s be honest, nobody likes a Tuesday. You don’t have the whole ‘Monday Blues’ excuse, and the week is definitely not over…but don’t worry, as per we’ve got you covered. We are here to prep you for the weekend (well in advance), with Kip’s list of ‘Things To Do In Hackney This Weekend’…simple & to the point, you can probably guess what the next few paragraphs are going to be about!

We think weekends should be wholesome (on some level…), and what’s more wholesome than hiring a Santander bike or an Uber scooter and ridin’ around Hackney?! Everything in Hackney is stunning (yes we’re biased, but also right), the characterful houses and cute streets will keep you exploring for ages, and to top it off Hackney has some of the best parks in London. Victoria Park, Hackney Marshes, Hackney Downs…to name a few!

You can find Santander bikes super close to the hotel in London Fields, Ada Street, and Victoria Park Road. For Uber Scooters, simply login to the Uber app and stick in your location.

Where to eat in Hackney?

A weekend in Hackney must include trying out some of our local restaurants, as Hackney is well renowned for independent restaurants and bars with super tasty food and a real eclectic vibe. This weekend we are really feeling BRAT. Originally a restaurant in Shoreditch, BRAT has also opened up a pop-up in Climpson’s Arch, right by London Fields and a short walk from our hotel in Hackney. Think of a super arty warehouse, with dimly lit candles, an open kitchen, and a brilliant vibe! The menu is seasonal and changes often, so if you want to go more than once you definitely won’t get bored!

What to do in Hackney

If you fancy continuing the wholesome/active energy into your Hackney weekend, then definitely have a go at some rock climbing…it’s apparently 2021’s version of the gym. There’s a couple of different rock climbing spots, but we suggest Hackney Wick Boulder or The Strong Hold

For those art lovers out there (which we hope are a lot of you), then we’d definitely urge you to very slightly dip your toe out of Hackney and venture over to the Hayward Gallery on Southbank. Not only is the gallery itself absolutely stunning, but the current exhibition is one of our favourites; ‘Mixing It Up: Painting Today’, features 31 contemporary UK based artists, so there really is something for everybody!

Finally, you cannot complete your weekend without a canalside drink. Hackney Wick is the go to for this. Specifically, Number 90 bar, situated right on the canal!
