Kips Guide To The East London Festival Scene

Summer in London is going to be EPIC, we have utter faith in that! Sure, so many people want to get away and get some Vitamin D, but there is nothing better than being a big park, listening to your favourite artists…LIVE, whilst the sun is shining on our favourite city. East London is the hub of London’s festival scene, and at Kip we have narrowed it down for you, and also have you covered when it comes to finding somewhere to crash!

Field Day:

Our favourite East London park and one of our favourite East London festivals. Sunday 29th of August – yep bank holiday weekend – in Victoria park, is where you really should be! The festival will be home to some of the biggest electronic artists, with Bicep as the headline, alongside Jungle, Prospa, Maribou State, and a heck of a lot more!

(Location: Victoria Park, jump on the central or district line to Mile End, or alternatively take the overground to Cambridge Heath or Bethnal Green. Date: Sunday 29th August.)

All Points East:

Also in Victoria Park (clearly the epicentre of London festivals), will be All Points East, another iconic East London festival! All Points East has a super eclectic mix of artists, so it’s great if you like to pick n’ mix your music. For starters you’ve got Arlo Parks and Little Simz, for mains Jamie XX, and for dessert, the very tasty Kano! You’re salivating…yep, we are too.

(Location: Location: Victoria Park, jump on the central or district line to Mile End, or alternatively take the overground to Cambridge Heath or Bethnal Green. Date: Saturday 28th August.)

Looking for All Points East accommodation? Take a look at Kip’s affordable hotel rooms, situated just 10 minutes drive from Victoria Park.

Eastern Electrics:

August bank holiday is a popular weekend for festivals, so as you can imagine, there are some clashes, but that’s okay, it just means you’ve got more options! If All Points East doesn’t get you going, then Eastern Electrics might do the trick, especially if you’re a house music lover. There’s 4 different stages, as well as a VIP section, so there’s plenty of choice! If you fancy a sneak peek at the artists, then here you go…we’ve got, Maya Jane Coles, Jamie Jones, and Loco Dice, to drop a few names. Eastern Electrics will get you feeling nostalgic about all of the house nights you used to go to pre-lockdown!

(Location: London…the exact location is yet to be released. Date: Saturday 28th August.)

Gala:

Of course, there are some festivals which don’t fall in East London, but they’re definitely worth checking out! Gala festival is located in Peckham Rye Park, and guess what?! It’s two days long, AND, starts at the end of July, so you don’t have to wait until August bank holiday to throw out all the moves you’ve been practicing on TikTok this past year. Gala is an independent festival, celebrating club culture and dance music!

(Location: Peckham Rye Park, the nearest train stations are Peckham Rye Park or Honor Oak Park. Date: Saturday 31st July – Sunday 1st August.)

Maiden Voyage:

A secret park in North London, with Biig Pig, Moses Boyd, and Habibi Funk…can’t get more of a vibe than that? Maiden Voyage is more of an under the radar festival, you’ve got to be in the know to know, if you know what we mean? It’s a great festival to discover new sounds, and live music in a forest sounds way way better!

(Loction: North London. Date: Sunday 29th August.)

Wireless:

One of the bigger, more well known weekend festivals is Wireless! It doesn’t need much explanation, just get yourself to Finsbury Park in July to truly kick off festival season!

(Location: Finsbury Park, nearest station is Finsbury Park. Date: Friday 2nd July – Sunday 4th July.)

For hotels near Wireless Festival or any of those mentioned, Kip is in the centre of East London, the ideal spot to stay during festival season. Our rooms are selling out fast, so be sure to book ASAP so you’ve got an extra cosy place to rest your dancing feet!
