Kip’s Guide To A Spooky Halloween in Hackney
Spooky season is very much upon us, we’re kind of already sick of seeing pumpkins and skeletons everywhere we go, but also secretly love it. Let’s be honest, Hackney is home to the most eclectic people, restaurants, bars, parks etc… we love an excuse to be super XTRA and get knees deep in fancy dress, and of course, Kip is the perfect spot for a spooky sleepover…if that’s the kind of thing you’re into! So, here’s our guide to a Hackney Halloween…
Ballie Ballerson – Shoreditch
Regardless of whether or not it’s Halloween, Ballie Ballerson is a GREAT time! A giant club in the heart of East London, with a HUGE ball pit….your 10 year old self is just screaming to come out! Throughout Halloween weekend (29-31st October), Ballie Ballerson are throwing THE Zombie wedding of the season…because let’s be real, all weddings have been cancelled the past 2 years & we’re all GASPING for a wedding filled with Zombies.
Ballie Ballerson is just a 27 minute journey from our hotel in Hackney, take the 55 bus to Shoreditch Town Hall, and you’re just a 4 minute walk away!
You can get your tickets here!
Vida Alta @ Colours Hoxton
Colours Hoxton is one of our favourite East London spots, it’s intimate, the drinks are bangin’, and they’re always home to a great range of DJs, both well established & up-and-coming. Combine that with Vida Alta, one of the most iconic Halloween parties around, and you’ve got quite the Halloween party! Expect circus acts & haunted tracks…rhyme intended.
If you’re staying in one of our cosy hotel rooms, you can get to Colours Hoxton from Kip in 26 minutes by taking the 55 bus to Shoreditch Town Hall, followed by a 4 minute stroll to Hoxton Square.

Ghost Newington Bar Crawl
If full on Halloween parties and fancy dress aren’t really your thing, then how about a Halloween style bar crawl around Stoke Newington? At the very least you’ll get to explore some of Stoke Newington’s very best bars and pubs…and they are quite something!
Ghost Newington’s starting point is at The Coach and Horses, which is 27 minutes from Kip, just take the 276 bus to Stoke Newington High Street / Garnham Street and walk to Sanford Lane, Stoke Newington.

Drag Brunch Out Of Hell – Between the Bridges
It does what it says on the tin really…it’ll be outrageous, hilarious & spooky as hell! So, basically, it would be very rude to miss it!

If you’re up for getting a group together and going BIG for Halloween then we’d recommend our Kip Friends room, where you can get into full spooky slumber party mode. Of course if you want to treat yourself a little, because we do need luxury and comfort at the scariest time of the year, then of course you should go for our Kip Penthouse or Studio. We have a super wide range of rooms that are ideal for every ghost, ghoul, pumpkin & creepy skeleton going!
