Hot Desking Spaces in Hackney & East London - Kip Hotel London

Hot Desking Spaces in (and around) Hackney & East London

Whether you need a quiet spot to send a few emails or a meeting room for a workshop, check out these ‘work anywhere’ spaces around our neighbourhood.

Out with the old ways of being chained to the same desk, in with the new age of grabbing your laptop, jumping on a plane and working wherever the hell you want. And that goes for everyone from startup CEOs and Creatives, to Lawyers, Personal Assistants and all the other multi-hyphenate job titles in between.

If you just so happen to get a flight to London (and then a train out East), we’ve pulled together a collection of cool, quiet spaces where you can get world domination under way, without the 1pm carnage of packed coffee shops…

WeWork London Fields

WeWork has been around for a while and has over 600 locations in over 100 cities, so you could say they’re pretty clued up on this whole remote working thing. Their London Fields location – which is just a stone’s throw away from Broadway Market (and our hotel too!) – has desks, full offices and meeting rooms to rent 24/7 and a buzzing calendar of events. If you don’t need a desk there all the time, check out the WeWork We Membership – you can pay-as-you-go for the time you use in any of their 600 locations.

PS: WeWork London Fields is the one closest to us, but also check out their 97 Hackney Road, The Stage – Bard London and The Stage – Hewett Tower spaces.

Campfire

Just a short walk from Old Street roundabout, right in the heart of Shoreditch, Campfire is a relaxed space for tech and creative entrepreneurs (probably, because they’re in the tech neighbourhood with Google as their neighbours). There’s hot desking, meeting rooms, a cafe, outdoor terrace and event space, but you also have all of Shoreditch on your doorstep, so y’know, there’s plenty of choice.

Palmspace

Palmspace describe themselves as “a leafy co-working space catering to creatives” but they’re really welcoming, even if you don’t work in the creative industry, promise. It has 24/7 access for that weekend grind, meeting rooms, a garden with private BBQ area(!!!), cafes on-site and resident social and networking events too. If you’re in London often enough to need a monthly membership and you just want somewhere that’s always-on, always-open, and always full of great people, this is the (Palm) space for you.

Work.Life London Fields

According to Work.Life, they have “Game Changing Hot Desks”, which seems like a pretty high bar to set, but we have to say, they’re are least ‘Really Great Hot Desks”. Their London Fields location has meeting rooms, a fully equipped kitchen, bike storage and cool extras like free yoga, monthly massages and lunch & learn sessions, which sound right up our street. You can either sign up for a monthly membership, or if you’re not quite ready to make that level of commitment, you can just drop by anytime and pay an hourly rate.

Mindspace

“Our beautiful and buzzing coworking hub impassions teams and stirs global opportunity. Inspire, innovate and grow with a community of doers in Shoreditch.”

We’re pretty much sold on that line alone, but if you need a little more convincing, there’s 24/7 access, event spaces, a SODA STREAM and the choice to have an open space desk with said community of doers, or your very own office, right in the epicentre of non-stop Shoreditch. PS: They also have a location-specific seasonal mixtape.

Accelerator London

Set up my the London Metropolitan University, Accelerator is a community of tech startups in Shoreditch with private office spaces and hot desking. Thanks to its links with the university, it’s probably one of the most affordable designated coworking space on this list with loads of the same features, including events, meeting rooms, bike storage, showers and free wifi. Also, you’ve got a great network of advisors and uni students who just so happen to be looking for an internship. Hey, didn’t you say you needed some extra help?

Workers’ Dalston

If you still miss the gentle buzz of a cafe, with the sound of baristas making double espressos in the background as the smell of freshly brewed coffee fills your nostrils, but can’t focus during the lunch hour madness, then Workers’ Dalston is the place for you. The best way we can describe it is that it’s like working at your favourite coffee shop, except it’s quiet and calm all day long. That is, of course, until it turns into a cocktail bar by night. It’s a great space to pop in for a few hours or you can make this your permanent go-to. It’s not a 24/7 office space for round-the-clock work like some of the others, but hey, that’s not always a bad thing.
