April In Hackney
Spring is here, the blossom trees are blooming around all of our favourite Hackney parks, people seem to be smiling more, and the sun is around…a bit. We definitely feel like there’s more of an urge to be out and about, so with that comes our list of things to do in London this April…
Go see some theatre…
We’re all about supporting new writers, up-and-coming actors, and seeing fresh pieces of theatre! This month we suggest getting yourself down to The Drayton Arms Theatre to watch ‘The Queen’s Arms’, which focuses around the life of Mags, an aspiring actress…who seems to spend more time pulling pints than actually doing any acting. The Queen’s Arms is “a heart-warming and funny play, that reminds us of the frustration of being young in a day and age when you are told that anything is possible, while nothing feels achievable.”
The Drayton Arms Theatre, 19-23rd April at 7.20pm, tickets: https://www.thedraytonarmstheatre.co.uk/tickets/the-queens-arms
Get familiar with Hackney street art…
If you didn’t know (and if you do, then we’re telling you again) Kip recently became home to a huge mural featuring 20 different pieces of art by 5 London based artists. The project, Kip Wall: A Window To Hackney, focuses around the theme ‘connection’ and was created to add some colour and vibrance to Hackney Central, as well as provide a great platform for up-and-coming artists! You can see these amazing art works on the side wall of our hotel, right opposite Hackney central station. P.s. it’s April, the sun is shining more, and the mural hits different in those glistening sun rays!
Discover the South Asian Underground music scene at Earth, Hackney…
Dialled In, hosted at Earth in Hackney, is celebrating the South Asian underground scene. You can expect a mix of DJs, live acts and art installations that’ll get you feeling totally immersed in South Asian culture, expect a lot of colour, vibrance, energy and culture! Some of our favourite acts include, Yung Singh, Anoushka Shankar, and KAVYA.
Earth Hackney, April 9th 1-10pm, tickets: https://earthackney.co.uk/events/dialled-in-09-04-2022/
Get your skates on…
Did we mention that the Hackney parks are especially perky in spring?! Well, we’re mentioning it now. Victoria Park is one of our favourites, the gorgeous fountain, pedalo boats, and food market on the weekends, make it an ideal hangout spot this month. BUT, what we’re really into is rollerblading. There’s a huge rollerblading culture in Victoria Park, you can get lessons, bring your own skates, or hire some out for the day…it’s the total definition of a wholesome spring day in London!

Treat yourself to something boujee…
We LOVE a new restaurant, and we love it even more when the restaurant has especially stunning chandeliers and a vintage style bar. What we are describing here is, The Maine, a new England styled brasserie with the classical tastes of 18th century Britain. Peaky Blinders fans…this one might be for you.

As per, this is just a little outline of all the jazzy things London has to offer this month! We of course would love to have you stay with us, so if you fancy it have a little gander at some of our rooms here!
