Indi Cinema Trip
Christmas is a great way to experience one of London’s characterful historic cinema buildings, as there’ll be a load of new film releases. Try one of the oldest cinemas in the capital, the Edwardian-built Electric Cinema Portobello, for some old-school refinement. You can settle into a leather armchair or cuddle up under a cashmere blanket on a double bed – for a truly one-of-a-kind winter movie night.

Enchanted Woodland at Syon House
Winter Wonderland is great, but if you fancy something a bit different this year Syon Park’s magical forest is a great shout. Explore the “Enchanted Woodland”, as it’s lit up with colourful light projections and follow the illuminated trail through the arboretum. The Enchanted Woodland is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 15 November and 1 December.

Dennis Severs’ House Annual Christmas Installation
Okay, this is Christmassy – but it’s cool! Step into Christmas, back in time. This frozen-in-time 1700 house tucked away down a Spitalfields side street, is given a festive makeover each Christmas. Complete with freshly wrapped presents, the sound of carolers and the sweet smell of a Christmas dinner, it’s a different way to get your Christmas fix.
