Designing a Hotel for Content Creators

Cool, minimalist interiors in the heart of Hackney – a place to catch some Zzz’s (and the perfect shot for your next post)

For us, hotels are about more than a seriously comfy bed – they’re about giving people a place that they can call home for the next night, or weekend, or month. When we designed Kip, we went for cool, minimalist interiors with good lighting, and as time went on and posts went up, we soon realised that we just so happened to have built a hotel that’s the perfect backdrop for creating content.

When you think of ‘content creators’ you probably think of bloggers, photographers and models, but they’re not the only ones with killer instas. Whether it’s a GRWM (get ready with me) video for your latest brand collab, or just an Instagram story to send to your mates, stay with us for the perfect base to snap, post and see those likes rolling in.

We’re minimalist by nature here at Kip and we were inspired by the likes of Calvin Klein and Apple when it came to creating a space that people could make their own, without any distractions. All of our rooms are decked out with a monochrome palette, that hangs low as a backdrop, letting your style take centre stage. You’ll also find a full-length mirror in most of our rooms to show off those next-level threads, but it doesn’t stop there.

Top tip – pull down the blinds on bright days for an instant softbox with studio-worthy light and when it’s dark, flip on the Kip lightbox, turn to front-facing camera and try not to gasp at how fly you look. When ready, use our lightening-speed, free wifi to upload and go.

Outside your room, you have all of East London to explore – which is probably one of the best places to take photos in the city. It’s just one of the many reasons why we decided to plant ourselves in the heart of Hackney – there’s no place like it. From street art, to cool bars, cafes and London Fields just a short walk away from the front door of the hotel, you won’t be short of locations to whip out your camera, and then not put it back again for at least a few hours (make sure to bring an extra battery – you’ll need it). Here’s why…

One of the best things about Kip is the fact that we meet so many people who come in and out of the hotel. We like to think of it as a community, which is why you might notice the giant #GetSomeKip hashtag in the hotel hallways. So, keep an eye on our Insta and the hotel elevator for some familiar faces.
