Kip’s Lowdown on London Fashion Week 2021
September is very much upon us, and although summer is over we don’t need to start crying into our box of chocolates (pure Elle Woods style), because London Fashion Week is within touching distance! From 16th-21st of September, London is set on fire with the biggest fashion week of the year. Think crazy outfits, models of all shapes & sizes, and incredible emerging fashion designers just waiting to be snapped up and shown some love! At Kip, we not only want to give you somewhere cosy to stay, we also want to give you our LFW lowdown, so you know exactly what’s going on from the Kip perspective…
Let’s start with the all important part…what to see?
What to see at London Fashion Week 2021
LFW takes place all over London, with presentations, catwalk shows, and digital shows/performances constantly filling the city with energy! We know it can be a little overwhelming, but here’s what we think you should keep your eyes on…
- Rixo presentation (17th, 14.30-16.30) – born from two best friends living room in 2015, Rixo has a vintage style at its roots. Each Rixo piece is designed to be timeless, so it really doesn’t matter what season it is, it’s something you can wear and re-wear. Basically, if you’re into stunningly bright coloured dresses, with a vintage twist, Rixo is the one for you!
- University Shows take place throughout the week, presenting the works of some of the very best fashion and design students. These are great if you’re looking for something fresh, unseen, and eclectic. The university students really are the ones to watch, and the ones whose collections appear on the catwalk in the years to follow.
- Molly Goddard presentation (18th, 14.00-16.00) – Central St Martins graduate, Molly Goddard, has continued to put on the most gorgeous shows. Molly’s well known for her dolls house – like dresses, and maximalist designs!
- Charles Jeffrey (Loverboy) catwalk (20th, 20.00) – His designs are wild, eclectic, and totally bonkers. You can expect A LOT from his shows, not just because the pieces are totally out there, but also because the production behind it is always close to something theatrical!

What to wear to London Fashion Week 2021
But, what to wear to one of the biggest fashion weeks in the world?!
We know, it can be a lot of pressure, even if you’re not at any of the shows it still feels like the temperature has been cranked up on the style thermometer! Our advice to you is…wear whatever the hell you like! London is inclusive in many ways, we know it isn’t always easy, but trust us, when it comes to fashion week anything goes!
Where to eat and drink at London Fashion Week 2021
If you’re hungry/thirsty (which we often are)…
It’s no longer fashionable to starve yourself and live on a diet of vodka, and all of this running around in the fashion week circus can really get your appetite going! So, get yourself to Jusu Brothers in Notting Hill for a taste of Bali. All the food is plant based, the staff are super easy on the eye, and the vibe is zen…and let’s be honest, you’re going to need it during the LFW chaos.
For a cheeky beverage, we recommend Louie, located right near covent garden. The vibe is sophisticated, yet super cool, the very best part is the upstairs roof!
If you want a little indulgence (which you really should), try Ferdi, Shepherd Market. Ferdi started off in Paris, and made its way to Mayfair, specialising in the most ridiculous burger you may ever eat. Also, it’s the home of the Hadid sisters whenever they’re in London…and we wouldn’t be surprised if you caught them there during fashion week!
Where to stay during London Fashion Week 2021
Of course, there’s the most important question…where to stay?
With us, of course! We have a real collection of rooms, from penthouses to cosy cabins that are perfect just for one/if you’re just planning on dashing in and out. Kip is a hotel in East London, where a lot of the fashion houses are located, so you’ll definitely feel involved in the London fashion week buzz, but the nearby parks and canals will definitely get you feeling a little calmer and more centred, than a central London spot. We’d also highly recommend downloading the Urban massage app, where you can truly relax between shows and get a bespoke massage directly in your room!
